  We didn't even get to take half of them out when she told us she couldn't take any of them, and informed us they have to be in VERY VERY good condition.

  Great variety but even "NEW" books aren't that new. There weren't any other customers in the store when I first went in. The employee never said hello or anything to me.

  Last month I would've given Half Price Books a great review and in hind sight perhaps I should have. There's a lad who worked there who is very personable and very helpful. Always willing to help me find a book. Made shopping there pleasurable.

  I loved going here when I was in the area. the gentleman that worked here was very nice and helpful to find specific books. Unfortunately he was let go.

  Basically don't bother, unless you're buying brand new books that are sealed in plastic and never touched and then sell it to her for a terrible amount.

  Today I stopped in thinking that I'd see if I could sell a couple of my books. First time I've remembered. I was shocked at how little I was offered and decided that I'd rather (and will) donate them to the Oshawa Library for their semi-annual book sale. But, I figured what the hey, I would still come back to shop, just not to sell......and then, as I was taking my books back, the elderly lady at the counter took GREAT glee in informing me the lad isn't employed there anymore. Wow. I was gobsmacked. She was well pleased.

  Fairly good selection of books depending on what you're looking for. The price is excellent and the staff is friendly and helpful. As one of the only used book stores in the area, I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you have the patience to look through all the shelves.
