I think the Bay may go the way of Sears some day. They have no electronics section anymore, no Blu-Ray movies, no book section and a lot of over priced clothing. The place was near empty of customers. Sad.

The Bay has changed so much in the last 10-15 years or so. I used to enjoy shopping here and finding great pieces, a wide variety of styles at an affordable price especially when on sale. It was also better organized, "clean" and easy to find a customer service person to help you, and put through your order whereas now, one spends more time looking for a cashier than enjoying the shopping experience! My mom and I were in the store a few weeks ago (weekday) and she was ready to purchase over $200 worth of merchandise but we only found ONE cashier that was open in the kitchen/glassware area but there was a lineup with 5 people waiting! I then found an employee rearranging items on a shelf and asked her if other cash registers were open. She was kind enough to look for us and found one in the men's department but told us that there was also a lineup! Ugh.... My mom and I were a little annoyed and didn't want to wait in a long line up. We wouldn't mind if it's a customer or two but when people have quite a few items each, with 5-6 people in line and only TWO cashiers in a store like Hudson Bay, then there is a problem. I have even tried shopping on weekends, one hour before closing, thinking that it won't be that "busy", even though there are not many customers in the store and it feels deserted! You're lucky if you find a cashier on the side of the department that you are shopping in! It's ridiculous.

My husband was in a change room, for nearly 10 minutes in his sock feet trying on a suit. He asked me to join him to assist with his tie. All the while there was a DIRTY NEEDLE, belonging to some Oshawa junkie on the floor. After explaining to the sketchiest of employees, what happened he said "Again?!"

Pretentious staff which I have witnessed belittle people based strictly off appearance. One particular sales associate paid minimal attention to customers asking for help who seemed to not be as well off.. She degraded them and was belligerent overall with no customer service skills. Would not go back.

Went in looking for a formal dress for my daughter and myself. First sales associate directed me to the 'old' ladies section and told my daughter to check in another area which would have dresses more for her age!! We both ended up buying dresses, both from the more stylish, younger department. I'm surprised they didn't give me a seniors discount !!

My mom and I left the items and shopped at another store that had no line-ups, AND prices were 25%-50% less than The Bay.

This store needs help. It's one of the few iconic Canadian stores left. I was sad to see Eaton's close and then Sears. I hope that the people at the top take notice and make some appropriate decisions that take customers into consideration as you have a very loyal base, and they deserve to receive better customer service than what you have been providing. This will also help your staff to feel better appreciated if you have more staff on the floor and serving customers instead of always being concerned with your earnings. There needs to be a respectful balance.
